The Centre for Planning and Development of Social Services (ZPE) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the Faculty II (Education – Architecture – Fine Arts) at the University of Siegen. ZPE (an abbreviation of our German name Zentrum für Planung und Entwicllung Sozialer Dienste) aims to bridge theory and practice development in the fields of social work and out-of-school education as well as health and social policy.

Our research activities link us to partners on regional, national and international levels. Within the framework of research and consultancy projects, we cooperate with social service providers, educational and training institutions, administrations and ministries at state and federal levels, and European and international universities.
